Mama Sita's Caldereta (Spicy Sauce Mix)

Description

Mama Sita is a brand of mixes and sauces used to create Filipino dishes. Mama Sita's Caldereta Spicy Sauce Mix is a seasoning mix for spicy beef stew. It's a mixture of western and oriental spices in just the right proportions, which makes it a widely popular stew. 

Caldereta Recipe: (Serves 10) 
Ingredients: 
1 pouch (50g) Mama Sita's Spicy Sauce (Caldereta) Mix 
1 kg (2.2 lb) beef brisket (cut into 1.5" cubes) 
1 cup (190g) each potatoes/carrots (cut into serving portions) 
1 pc bell pepper (1.5" triangle cuts) 
1/2 cup (100g) green peas 
1/4 cup (28g) pitted green olives (optional) 
2 cups (500 ml) water 
3 tbsp (45 ml) cooking oil 
Cooking Instructions: 
1. Pan-fry meat in heated cooking oil until brown 
2. Add water, bring to a boil. Simmer until meat is tender. Add more water, as needed 
3. Add Mama Sita's Caldereta Mix, stir. Add the potatoes and carrots. Simmer 
4. Lastly, add the rest of the vegetables. Cook until done. Serve hot with rice
